While eating my monday red beans & rice I turned on the tv and caught an episode of "Las Vegas". One of the two intertwined plots was set in New Orleans-- the alternative reality New Orleans which exists somewhere in Hollywood, where the New Orleanians speak with Cajun accents.... There were a couple of short exterior shots that clearly were shot here, and other of some other city on a river that clearly wasn't.

If someone who didn't know much about New Orleans would watch the show, at the end of it they'd know even less.

Well anyway... Happy Mardi Gras from the Real New Orleans.

valiant_200 and I will be in the city this weekend. We are staying at the Springhill Suites on St. Joseph, so we don't have to drive back to Mississippi every evening. We'll be there until early Tuesday morning. Unfortunately, he has to work on Shrove Tuesday. :-(

We were disappointed not to see you in Krewe de Vieux, but we understood if you were under the weather. It was truly cold that evening!
