Drummers. Our regular drummers weren't there, but others were. Nice guys with plenty of enthusiasm, but things always go better when the drummers know the tunes and work WITH the horns.

Towards the end of the parade the marching order got much looser. For a while one of the other trombonists and I rode as passangers in two of the golf cart floats. We said for next year we need to put together a band where each musician is riding in a cart.

Love your pictures! Next year I need to get involved in more of the non-touristy stuff. This was my first Mardi Gras so I basically hit the major parades. And next year will be my last before I move again, so I have to take full advantage.

Maybe valiant_200 and I should plan to stay uptown next Mardi Gras. Maybe the cost won't be quite so prohibitive.
