H-Mas Road Trip

mshollie & I are planning to take a Solstice Season drive over to Florida for a week or so. We plan to visit my parental units in Boca Raton (the city whose chamber of commerce devotes energies into trying to concoct dubious explanations of why its name doesn't really mean "Rat's Mouth"), make a day trip to Miami Beach, and maybe hit St. Augustine on the way back.

What? Boca Raton really means "Rat's Mouth"?

Then there's the town in California called "Manteca". Would you want to live in a town named "Lard", or a street named "Avenida de las Pulgas?" (I think that means "street of fleas", if my Spanish is correct.)

I think I may want to brush up before hitting Miami. Hmmm, OK. I can watch the telenovelas on Univision.
