Heck of a job, one year on
Aug. 29th, 2006 11:17 amThe "Road Home" website finally went up last week. It had to be taken down days later after repeated crashes and it was found that the personal information of disaster victims using it to apply for help rebuilding could have their personal info seen by others.
A couple who'd waited for a FEMA trailer for almost a year finally got one. Within minutes, it exploded, severely injuring them.
(IMO in the majority of cases a promptly delivered voucher for construction materials at 1/3rd the price the Government spent on FEMA trailers would have been a lot more helpful. Too bad Cheney wasn't a major stockholder of Home Depot or Lowe's.)
