As it comes up so often, I use the opportunity to pretty much reiterate what the Doc Brite mentions when asked about the area. Do you mind if I provide a link to that on my alternate LJ? I keep the other one strictly for the neighbors and the general public who ask me questions as an opportunity to hammer it home that everything is _not_ okay yet.
There was a TV special on Pearlington, MS yesterday that DH watched as this is his maternal side of the family home town. It doesn't look any different than it did last Decemember when we were there. Not all of the Mississippi coast is being rapidly rebuilt, just those areas where the casinos are sinking money.
