Plug clarification
Oct. 6th, 2003 02:55 pmThe event is Tuesday the 14th of October; it looks like both bands are going to continue playing at the Neutral Ground (Uptown on Daneel 3 blocks down from Jefferson) on second tuesdays of the month. The Sycamos has been playing a number of private parties, but not many open to the public gigs.
The first band is "Some Like It Hot", starting at 7pm, playing 1920s hot jazz. I'm not a member of the band but have been a guest with them for the last few months.
The Sycamos is the second band, going on at 8pm. We might be described as Dixieland with a few fun loving twists. I'm regular with that band on trombone and somehow have been talked into doing a couple of vocals with them (one of the hazards of being the type of person who knows the words or can pull out adiquate replacements when he forgets the occasional line).
Our self-produced cd is not yet availible, but looks like it will be in not too long.
