Um... I guess I don't have the medical training to understand exactly how these hair accessories fight the flu.

Maybe they're homeopathic.

I don't know, myself... but I'm pretty sure I've read stuff about doctors spreading shit around from their grubby, germ-infested neckties...?

(Or maybe you're just reading too much into the generic signage supplies sent to Walgreens by their home office.)

Well duh! Obviously one inserts a pony's tail into the jaw thus keeping the mouth shut so's no germs are dispersed into the commonly shared air!
