"Brad Pitt for Mayor" has been a tongue in cheek grass roots campaign for some time, and t-shirts with this slogan seem to be selling well.

Someone finally asked Pitt about it in the public media:

"Yeah. I'm running on the gay marriage, no religion, legalization and taxation of marijuana platform," Pitt said before a short pause. "I don't have a chance."

Dang. Now I like him twice as much.

Please don't elect him. Sure, it would be the best thing to happen to your thriving metropolis, but those of us out here in the desert have precious little to cling to but awesome movies about killing gnatsies, aging backwards, and being a hallucinatory expression of Edward Norton's desire to fight William Shatner.

Interesting idea, but don't you have to be a resident of New Orleans to run for mayor???

Yeah, he IS a resident, bought a house in the Quarter some years ago, but IIRC he's been a New Orleans resident a year short of actually fulfilling the stated qualifications to run for mayor this election.
