I hadn't realized that I'd been photographed with the Queen.

Well, sort of.



The blur in the carrage wearing an aqua hat is Queen Elizabeth II. I'm the back of the head at lower right. The other person in the carriage is the Yang of Malaysia. London, 9 July, 1974.

Back when I was a lad, we din't have any of these damned Segways and Humvees; if we were lucky we rode on turtles and we were glad to get the ride.

Those are absolutely wonderful! It must have taken you a long time to get to London on that turtle.

Yeah, fortunately the turtle was just as fast in the water as on land.

I don't recall the turtle ride, but I do recall seeing the Queen and the Yang. A brass band proceeding her played a Joplin's "The Entertainer".
