I hadn't realized that I'd been photographed with the Queen.

Well, sort of.



The blur in the carrage wearing an aqua hat is Queen Elizabeth II. I'm the back of the head at lower right. The other person in the carriage is the Yang of Malaysia. London, 9 July, 1974.

Back when I was a lad, we din't have any of these damned Segways and Humvees; if we were lucky we rode on turtles and we were glad to get the ride.

Probably not. Those Galapagos tortoises are so seriously endangered that most zoos (if any) have them anymore, and if they do, I'm sure it's no-touchy. Not to mention, it was decided that kids could get salmonella from touching them, so with today's overprotective parents- I doubt it.

I just took my mom to Galatoire's, and she thought that they made the turtle soup out of those, and she was horrified. It was funny.
