"Krewe of OAK" "Mid Summer Mardi Gras" parade party



Party/parade in my neighborhood.

I'm happy with my little pocket digital camera in the day, but at night when flash is needed it waits some 2 to 8 seconds after I push the button (I never know how long) to take the picture. I need to get something else for use at night. Still, I managed to get a few pix that convey something of the event.

ah. me scottish ancestors approve the wearing of the tartan by the young lassies. and Benny and Booker and the others deserve speacial recognition for working so in the heat of the night.

That pic was one of a series where I just stood behind a parked car to one end of the procession as it went by, holding up my balky camera and letting it take pics when it chose. With her expression there, that wound up being one of the best pics of the evening!

BTW, I also have a photo of Smurfette and Mr. T from Mardi Gras day 2005.
