Happy Easter from New Orleans
Apr. 9th, 2007 07:09 pmYesterday I considered going to catch the Pigeon Town Steppers second line parade, but I stayed home mid day working on a presentation I'm doing at the Music Colloquium next week. I wasn't sure where the parade would go anyway.
When I headed out out to do something else later in the day, I hadn't driven far before the second line was unexpectedly blocking my route. Well, fate decided I should catch the parade whether I got off my rear to hunt for it or not, so there was nothing to do but park the car and enjoy the wonderful music and procession.
Later that evening, over to a friend's house for an Easter Party, where there was a jazz jam. While perhaps less visually interesting, it was no less of a thrill for the ears.

I'm in this community called gratuitous_pics where we post random pictures but we're also starting a project to take pictures of members' hometowns. You should check it out.

Scheduals permitting, perhaps we could meet IRL over a beverage.

Date: 2007-04-10 08:41 pm (UTC)And it'd be cool to have coffee somewhere. I'll actually be in town for Phoenix Rising, which is a Harry Potter convention, from 5/17 to 5/21. My wife is meeting up with a ton of her LJ friends (many of which has become my friends as well) there too. We'll be staying in the French Quarter because the convention venue is the Sheraton on Canal St.
Actually, here's one question for you. My son loves trains, so I'm planning to take him on the street car on the river front. Any suggestions?
