Let's take a cruise to Bermuda in 1929
Mar. 25th, 2007 11:16 amIt's been a while since I posted old family pix. Here's some of my maternal grandparents on their honeymoon cruise to Bermuda in 1929.

Grandmother as a stylish flapper. Looking a tad seasick?

Grandfather and friends at port in Bermuda

Mmmm, beer! No Prohibition in Bermuda.
----
Related story: My grandfather bought a house outright for himself and his new bride and paid for the cruise by selling stock in September of 1929. Years later he liked to tell visitors "Did you know I bought this house for fifteen cents?" because that was all the stock was worth after the crash.
----
My grandmother would cut off the corners of photos and paste them into scrapbooks. She was still doing this over half a century later. I cropped the photos so it's not evident in some, but they're all like that. I don't know where that aesthetic arose from.

Oh, I've got an email incoming for you too.
