Buck Evans is my current ShorDurPerSav.

That Cowboy Band

Words and music by Buck Evans
(Composer of "Mabel From Coral Gables" and "Who's She Jazzin' Now?")
As recorded by The Brahmin Bellhops

All Cheyanne is talkin'
'Bout a brand new way of walkin'
Since Professor Texas Johnson started raggin' a new tune.
Him and his band
Began to syncopate
Way down in the land
Where folks evaporate.
He's the guy
That made 'em cry
When his rug-cutters said goodbye
To all the fancy-steppers back in terrible Tucson.
They've taken over the town.
Everyone's hopping around.

Way out in old Cheyanne (Back it down a bit)
Out where the West began (Stick around a bit)
How those heiffers buck and kick
When that hick Rio Grand piana player
Moiders a jag-time tune (Every note of it)
Under the Cheyanne moon (Get a load of it)
Every Nan and Dangerous Dan
Is strutting to That Cowboy Band.

I love this song, maybe I can find an audio file to listen to somewhere. I like Tom Paxton and old and new folk, plus blues, reggae and eclectic rock, but I have the flu so I'm not really sure what I'm saying.

Bye bye,
Jac
