Yes, that is of concern to me as well. The Jazz Archives should be okay. I'm sure much is being lost, as often happens in these things. The Nunez family collection I brought to scholarly attention with so much good stuff was actually just a random half or less of an originally larger collection much of which was lost in Hurricane Betsy in the '60s.
I hope my house will be there, and if so the things I most hope are still there are the original artworks and my various research materials and notes that I never got on my laptop or the web.
