Sep. 13th, 2008 12:53 pmSubtext of the coverage of Hurricane Ike: In Houston that they're talking about downed signs, sunken yachts, and people without power (as opposed to, say, neighborhoods flattened and people trapped in their attics by flooding) looks to be a sign that things are not nearly as bad as feared there.
Things worse in Galveston and Corpus Christi, though not yet clear just how much worse.
Of course at this point after Katrina, the media hadn't yet checked out anything other than the French Quarter and Canal Street.
