[livejournal.com profile] mshollie's place in the Westbank suffered some exterior dammage, but is in pretty good shape, and the neighborhood is getting or has gotten power and water back.

So it looks like we may be heading back to the Greater New Orleans area after we know what Hurricane Rita is up to.

I finally got the first first-hand report from a friend who took a look at my house from the outside.

Says it's still there, some roof tiles off. A tree went down in the back, but missed the house and the hot-tub.

Yay.

(Still no word on when power and water are supposed to be up in that area, but if it's up at Ms Hollie's, I'll be spending the day cleaning up at my place and the nights at her's.)

He're an article about a friend and bandmate with a home in the Treme neighborhood. It made the front page of the paper in his family home town of Marion, Ohio.
