Well, I wish I was now writing the other message that had been in my head, to console my Republican & Conservative friends.
Alas, I fear the election results will prove to be bad news for all of us.
The only consolation I can think of for those opposed to Bush is that in his second term, much of the mess that Bush has been creating will be blowing back and hitting him in the face.
We havn't seen anything yet.
With Republicans controlling both houses of Congress, the Executive, and having appointed 7 of the 9 Supreme Court Justices, they damn well will have no one else to blame.
If we still have a democracy here in '08, I expect the Republicans to be massively discredited in to an extent that they havn't seen since the election of '32. But this time it won't just be their handling of the economy, but a much broader and worse spectrum of collosal blunders.
It's gonna be a rough few years. But if we manage to live through it, it should be... interesting...
