infrogmation | Dawn Marie, RIP

It seems

dawnmarie died July 20th.
I didn't know her well, but I had the good fortune to interact with her at a few SciFi/Fantasy Conventions.

While I checked on her LJ on occasion, I didn't even have her on my "friends" list.
To be honest, some of my fannish friends seemed to have trouble getting along with her, pointing to a "prima donna" attitude and tendancy to order everyone around, but I got along with her fine, just knowing not to take what she said too seriously. She was a cute fun person with lots of joi de vive.

In the accounts she seems to have some confusion about me & my "Church of the Great Green Frog" and the alcohol based religion of The Way of the Russ, but since various substances were consumed at the ceremonies, some confusion can be forgiven. (Russ & I share a respect for the sacramental drinking of the Holy Hops.)

She calls my costume an "eyesore"; I prefer to think of it as "eye catching". Cute young well formed CHYX may be able to make a splash at costume parties by just wearing their undies, but the rest of us have to put some effort into it.

We were on the court of ExoticonI and ExoticonII here in New Orleans.

At present the official story seems to be Dawn Marie she died of a natural seziure, but there are rumors of foul play, perhaps inspired by the info that apparently some s.o.b. beat the $#!+ out of her at a Con back in January.

Dawn Marie will be missed.
