Oh, yeah, I'm familiar with the original recording. Among Armstong's talents was that he was a great blues accompaniest, something he seldom had a chance to demonstrate late in his career, which is another point I find interesting in that tv clip.

I notice YouTube has excerpts from Jimmie Rodger's 1929 soundie (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gbzc77Tz6PA&NR=1) as well.

I recall I first saw it in the Jimmy Rodgers Museum in Meridian, Mississippi-- 1992, I think. The museum worker clearly disliked playing it for visitors.
