Dollar Bill wasn't the first choice in most sections of the district, in many coming in 3rd or 4th, but the opposition candidates mostly carried their base neighborhoods without having established much support elsewhere. Jefferson's 20 something percent of the vote districtwide carried him into the runnoff.
With corruption allegations hanging heavily over Jefferson, I saw hardly any signs for him in anyone's yard. However Jefferson signs are very common in much of the city, as he seems to have hired people to nail them up to buildings still vacant since the levee disaster of 2005. If abandoned buildings had votes, Jefferson would have things sewed up.
